THE OPTION SUPPLIED WITH WIRE ROPE IS NOT SUPPLIED ATTACHED, CERTIFICATION WOULD BE DONE BY THE INSTALLER ONCE THE WINCH AND ROPE HAS BEEN INSTALLED.

can this be used for controlled raining and lowering? Does it have a freewheeling option (my use case is a child's drawbridge and I would prefer no freewheel)

Yes it can be used for raising and lowering, you will need a minimum load of 10kg for the brake to engage.

Can I use this winch for 6mm cotton sash cord on an indoor clothes pulley?

No it would not fit on the winch, they are designed for wire rope.

We would recommend the AG45 as this is made from aluminimum and plastic so better suited for external use, the CS100 is designed for intenal use.

Yes you are correct the CS100 has self-locking worm gearing, when you stop cranking the winch handle the winch holds the load. The winch has to be working at a minimum of approx. 7 to 10% of the maximum working load for the braking to operate as mentioned.
